Kousuke and the others are invited to the Tréfle Empire, where Ludie's family gives them some imperial-level hospitality. But the good times come to an end when the Church of the Malevolent Lord stages a surprise attack and makes off with one of the empire's treasures! And in a clear divergence from the events of the original game, Kousuke encounters Hortensia, a heroine from the upper echelons of the Church. With everything going off the rails, can Kousuke find a way to awaken Ludie's powers and save the Tréfle Empire?
